Ahoi Ashtami 2023 Auspicious Yogas (Ahoi Ashtami 2023 Shubh Yoga)
- On November 5, 2023, during Ahoi Ashtami, there will be several auspicious yogas, including Ravi Pushya Nakshatra, which brings Sarvarthasiddhi, Shubh, Shrivatsa, Amala, Vashi, Sarala, and Gajakesari yogas.
Ahoi Ashtami Vrat Puja Vidhi:
- On Ahoi Ashtami, the observer should take a vow to fast after a bath before sunrise.
- Maintain a strict fast throughout the day and perform the puja during the Pradosh period at the auspicious time.
- Spread a red cloth on the puja platform and place an image or representation of Ahoi, which is a depiction of the seven sons, made with geru on a white paper.
- After invoking Lord Ganesha, offer roli, akshat, sindoor, singhada, and flowers to Goddess Ahoi.
- Recite the mantra, “Om Parvatipriyanandanaya Namah,” and then offer 8 sweet pua and pudi as prasad.
- Conclude the puja with Ahoi Mata’s aarti.
- In the evening, offer arghya to the stars or the moon and break your fast.
Ahoi Ashtami Vrat Niyam
- This fast, like Karva Chauth, can be quite challenging.
- While some people break their fast by observing the stars, others, based on their beliefs, break it after offering arghya to the moon.
- Use a brass vessel or the same karva that is used during Karva Chauth to offer arghya to the stars.
- Avoid consuming tamasic (heavy and stale) food on this day.
- It is considered auspicious to break the fast with prasad during the puja.
- On Ahoi Ashtami, do not use any sharp objects such as knives, scissors, or blades.
- Also, avoid digging the ground or plowing in the fields.
- In the middle of the night, there is a tradition to take a bath in Radha Kund, which is located on the Govardhan Parikrama path.
- It is believed that this ritual helps childless couples to conceive.
